Spirituality for the working class
Why are there so many different books on spirituality?
Because there are so many different people.
Everyone eventually gets to the same place, but they take many different paths. Anyone who has ever changed their life by changing the way they saw their life had a moment when something they read, heard, or saw suddenly made their path clear to them.
Spirituality has often been seen as the property of people of higher learning and those who live their lives behind the closed doors of monasteries. In the 21st century more and more people from all walks of life are looking towards spirituality as a way to make sense of their lives.
I have a working class background and no formal education. My hope is that this book speaks clearly to a part of the human community normally forgotten in books written by people with degrees—who have had the money and privilege to study in places and with people that are beyond the means of most of us. Working class people also want to explore themselves and their environment and ask where do I fit in? What is my true purpose? Why am I unhappy? How can I be a better person?
Hopefully this book answers some of those questions.
