About the Turtle Knight story, Brian says, "I have long been fascinated with stories within stories.   It’s this classical layering upon which I think memorable fantasies, the type of stories that become mythology, are built.  Here, I set out to tell you a story in which the protagonist, the Turtle Knight, tells stories, and within those stories there are still more stories.  Not to mention all the stories that are hinted at but never told!  (Give me time.)  And I wanted to write an atypical yet definitive love story, something quintessential yet original, timeless and classic yet wholly my own.   Of course, I also wanted the story to be fun.  With any luck, I succeeded in some of that."                          --Brian A. Hopkins, Author

Tell Me A Story: THE SAGA OF THE TURTLE KNIGHT, Brian A. Hopkins, www.yarddogpress.com, $6, 48 pages, ISBN: 1893687368, reviewed by Barry Hunter.

In this multi-layered fairy tale, Brian A. Hopkins gives us a story of a Princess who thinks she is happy even though the Prince snores, sleeps in another bedroom, and spends too much time away from the castle.

Along comes the Turtle Knight, who tells his tales the Princess and makes her life richer although she is unwilling to follow her heart. When the Prince returns home, he accuses the Knight of being a spy and throws him in the dungeon.

This is a fairy tale for our age. This is a story of our time. Everyone will find a part of themselves in one of the characters. Hopkins continues to amaze me with his ability to adapt and expand his horizons with his writings. Pick this one up to get a sample of what Brian can do and I’m sure you will be back for more.
