Don't Vote If You Haven't Really Thought About It

October 18, 2008

The following is a personal political statement. It is likely to offend any extreme conservatives and even some not so extreme conservatives. If you found the previous bitches offensive and are still reading, please stop now.

DO NOT CONTINUE READING IF YOU’RE GOING TO BE OFFENDED!

Look I've said it before and I'll say it again—I think people who say, "I don't care who you vote for as long as you vote" are idiots.

Going into those polls you had better stop trying to make excuses for your party. I know your dad voted Republican and you've always voted Republican. Hell I used to vote Republican.

Republicans are the party of less government and fiscal responsibility, right? Have you lived in the same country I've lived in for the last eight years? Republicans have made this country into a smoldering hole in the last eight. They allowed attacks on American soil then left Afghanistan before we had won on that front to start a war with Iraq—which has promoted the terrorists’ cause and gotten thousands of soldiers killed fighting a war that costs billions. A war that Chaney himself—back during Desert Storm—said we could not win. The really sad thing is that everything he said then about why we were pulling out has been absolutely true about this war, so why was he so gung ho to go in now?

Look, I don't like any of the politicians; they're a bunch of rich bastards that don't have a clue about what's going on in this country for most of us because... Well anything is different when you have money. They say money can't buy happiness but that is absolute bullshit. You're sick; you can afford to go to the doctor. Your car breaks down; you can afford to get a new one. Your water heater goes out; you call someone to fix it. You have the money to fix your roof if the hail beats it to pieces or the wind rips it off. Tornado or hurricane takes out your house completely? Well ;you just build another one. You can send your kids to college or help them if they get into trouble. You can literally make your dreams come true... if you're rich.

The rich are running our country and the rich don't live in the same country that we live in. How do I know this? Well, I don't know about you but going to the doctor sets me back financially for months. If the car breaks down and I can't fix it myself that sets me back months financially. Water heater goes out I have to take the old one out and put the new one in myself and just the price of the water heater and parts sets us back months financially. I had to put my own roof on when the hail beat it to pieces because the insurance company didn't pay enough to hire people to have it done. If a tornado took us out we'd just be screwed because I doubt the insurance company would pay us enough to do more than clean up the mess and put up a shed. Send the kids to collage? With what?! The economy created by this administration has more or less destroyed not just my dreams but the dreams of millions.

And yet by the millions people who have been hit the hardest by this administration’s policies will run to the polls to vote for McCain which will mean more of the same. Come on, people! Have you checked Sarah Palin out? The woman wants women to stay home and take care of their husbands and kids. She is a hypocrite because everything she wants for other ;women she isn't living now and won't be because she'll be the friggin’ VP! But what's really scary is that if McCain wins he will be the oldest president ever so that means she could very easily wind up our president. So you better check her out every bit as carefully as you check out McCain.

Now the truth is I don't think McCain is the evil soulless bastard that Bush is, I just think he really doesn't have a clue. However Palin is that evil bitch from high school who made every other kid’s life a nightmare. She holds that Down Syndrome child she gave birth to up like a red badge of courage, but she's not the one who gets up and takes care of that baby in the middle of the night.

We are badly over populated and that's what's causing many of our problems, yet both McCain and Palin have five kids. Now McCain adopted part of his and I think that's cool so I'll let him off the hook. But Palin gave birth to all of hers. Five kids, doesn't that show that she neither understands what's going on nor cares?

Frankly I can't imagine why McCain would choose her as a running mate. She's pretty... so is a cobra. She doesn't make me more comfortable with the ticket. In fact I didn't feel so bad about McCain till he choose Palin as a running mate.

Look I never like anyone who’s running. I want gay rights. I want out of Iraq, but I want us to go back to Afghanistan and finish what we started there and then get out. I'm all for the death penalty as long as it is equal and they have DNA evidence or something just as strong. I think they should make pot legal and tax the shit out of it like they do cigarettes, and I think they should string up meth cookers and dealers. I don't think we need a bunch of gun control laws. Background checks should suffice, though I think everyone who wants to buy a hand gun should have to take a firearms safety course and pass a test and then be left alone. I also seriously think they ought to give a firearms safety course to kids in school so that eventually even that would be obsolete because everyone would have it. I don't think anyone needs an automatic rifle—collector or otherwise—but I really have no problem with responsible, non-terrorist type people having them so maybe they just have to register them. See I don't think you should even have to register any other firearm.

I think everyone, rich and poor, should have to go to public school. If the rich want public schools to be better they should put their money where their mouth is. If their kids had to have the same education ours did they'd by God be sure the public schools got the money they needed instead of bitching about paying school tax when they send their kids to friggin’ private school. Guess what rich fucks, we all want what's best for our kids, but we don't have the buckets of cash you do. ;I think going to public school teaches people diversity and tolerance—or it would if the teachers were allowed to actually discipline the kids. I say beat the kids asses and if they won't behave after that suspend them until they have a change of attitude and fine the parents so much a day for every day the kid is suspended. And I don't think that kids that are extremely retarded or crippled should be in public school. It would be cheaper to send someone to their individual homes to teach them. Currently small school systems are being forced to spend sometimes more than half their budget to accommodate one or two kids, and the truth is some of these kids are so extremely retarded—because there is nothing wrong with that word—that they can't learn. They disrupt classes and take up huge amounts of the teacher's time that she could otherwise be spending teaching other students. Teachers should never be expected to change a student’s shitty pants. In other words, thousands of students are getting a lesser education to accommodate a student who it has been proven can not improve by being there. There is being fair and just and then there is just being stupid.

See, does it look like I can vote for anyone and feel good?

I believe in a woman's right to choose up to three months and then abortion should only be done to save the mother. Three months is plenty of time to figure out what you need to do. People who are anti-abortion need to ask themselves this, "How would I treat an unmarried pregnant girl who sat in my church who had already signed her child over for adoption?" As long as the same people who scream the loudest and longest about how abortion is murder treat unmarried mothers who give their children away like pariahs there will be abortion.

I believe the answer to our energy crises is to pull every gas-guzzling piece of crap off the road. Learn to conserve and recycle and get serious about things like methane and algae pools. Drilling and drilling and drilling in spite of what it does to the environment and ignoring the fact that at our current rate of usage drilling in the Alaska tundra wouldn't last us five years is just stupid. If you are going to take risks like endangering the Alaskan tundra, then there needs to be serious conservation so that it is going to last a while. We can't just keep tearing up everything.

And would it really be such a horrible thing for people to have two kids and quit?

I'd like to see us get rid of welfare as it is and go back to something like WPA. I'd like to see us do away with the food stamp program and go back to a commodities program. I have to work, everyone should have to.

We need socialized medicine for all citizens, not just the indigent and the elderly. That’s right; we already have socialized medicine in this country; it just doesn't cover the working classes. Take all the fringes out of the picture; if people want above and beyond then they can pay for it.

Close our borders. If you don't have a damn good reasons for being here or aren't a tourist stay out. We don't have enough jobs for our people and I don't want to hear that our people won't do those jobs. Like I said I believe we should go back to a ;WPA type system. You need money; pick vegetables. Before you ask if I'd like to do that, know that I have done it—in the fields with the Mexicans.

I'm not going to spell out everything I believe. The point is no one says what I want to hear. To me it's all about self preservation.

Look, the biggest threat to us all looming on the horizon isn't Middle Eastern terrorists, it's climate change. We know it's coming; it's already hammering us. But nothing has been done in the last eight years to prepare us for it. Nothing. ;None of the candidates are talking about what they are going to do to prepare this country for killer storms and food shortages. Now Hillary and Obama both started out talking about it but both were told by their advisors that ;it was a very unpopular topic so they stopped. But at least I think Obama knows this is a problem. I doubt McCain would admit it was even if he believes it.

I'm not voting for Obama because I trust him 100% or because I believe everything he says. I'm voting for him because the guys that are in have made a hole in the country I used to love. I'm voting for him because he's against the ;war and so is a good ;portion of the people in the trenches in Iraq. No one should be forced to fight for something they don't believe in. I'm voting for him because no one else has even a snow ball’s chance in hell of beating McCain and I think McCain will just continue in the direction we're already going—which is into hell—and I think Palin is an absolute nightmare.

Look, I know I can't make you change your mind. You'll vote the way you want to no matter what. But at least look around you. Are you better off now than you were eight years ago? Are you sure that McCain isn't going to give us more of the same? Obama may not be able to get us out of this hole, he may make it worse, but he keeps saying we need change and we do. He may not be able to do a damn thing and maybe I'm wrong and we are more likely to get killed with him. I don't think so. I don't think he is a secret Muslim.

Whoever wins the election will have the biggest mess to clean up that our nation has ever seen. Ask yourself who you think is up for that job. Don't just vote party lines. Our country is in serious trouble; we're in serious trouble. If you voted for Bush and you still feel good about that decision then obviously you have just found a way to rationalize everything that has happened over the last eight years and... Well you obviously just don't want to think about anything. But if you voted for Bush and have been saying for the last four to eight years, "Oh my G-d what have I done?" Then please don't just assume that McCain will do any better especially don't assume Palin will be a step up. Check them out.

Again I say, don't vote at all if you aren't interested in any news that doesn't have FOX in front of it.
